El Segundo – Wiseburn Aquatic Center – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

The City of El Segundo-Wiseburn Unified School District Aquatic Center’s doors are almost ready to open! Groundbreaking began on the new facility on April 27th, 2017 and since then crews have been hard at work on the highly anticipated swim facility.
The main feature of the outdoor swim center will be the 53 meters, 10 lane competition pool with an expanded shallow entry area and two movable bulkheads that will allow the pool to be configured to maximize the water space. There will be an additional 25 yard, 4 lane warm-up pool adjacent to the competition pool that will be utilized for teaching, fitness and therapeutic classes.
Additional features of the facility include a competition scoreboard and timing system, sports lighting, seating for over 500 spectators, and will all the Recreation Department to new fitness classes, swim lessons, and additional programs that fit the needs of the community.
To celebrate the effort and work put in by many to bring this dream project to a reality, there was a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony put on by the South Bay Sports, Health & Recreation on Saturday, September 29th.
