Lane Closure Alert: Rosecrans & Sepulveda
Southern California Edison (SCE) will begin maintenance work and make improvements to the electric grid in the cities of El Segundo and Manhattan Beach beginning Dec. 11, 2017 through February 2018 to improve safety and reliability.
All westbound traffic lanes on Rosecrans will be closed off from Village Dr. to Sepulveda Blvd. from Feb.11-16. The work will start at 11 at NIGHT and continue through 3 o’clock the next day to make sure the PM rush hours are not impacted.
This work is important to ensure the power grid is supported by up-to-date technology and reliability continues to improve.
Please be advised of the following construction alert for this phase of the project:
- From Feb. 11-16 and Feb. 18-23, work will be conducted on Rosecrans Ave., from east of Sepulveda Blvd. to just east of Village Dr. The work will start at 11 at NIGHT and continue through 3 o’clock the next day to make sure the PM rush hours are not impacted.
(Sun. – Fri.)
- While efforts have been taken to reduce the impacts of this project, traffic will be affected on Rosecrans Ave. and Sepulveda Boulevard.
- Stage 1 (Feb.11-16)- One westbound traffic lane will be open to traffic from Aviation Blvd. to Village Dr. All westbound traffic lanes will be closed off from Village Dr. to Sepulveda Blvd. Eastbound traffic not impacted. Detours will be set up at Aviation and Douglas to divert traffic.
Stage 2 (Feb 18-23)- One westbound traffic lane will be open to traffic from Aviation Blvd. to Village Dr. All westbound traffic lanes will be open after Village Dr. 2 eastbound traffic lanes will be open from Sepulveda Blvd. to Apollo St. All eastbound traffic lanes will be open after Apollo St.
- L.A. County Sheriffs will be on site to assist in directing traffic. Flaggers will be in place to safely escort pedestrians.
In some cases, large equipment such as cranes may be used. Please remain at a safe distance. There may be noise associated with construction activities. To ensure your safety during construction, there will be traffic lane and sidewalk closures. Crew members will use appropriate traffic control signs and flags.
